Meet Our Winners, And Follow Along At Home!

We could only choose three women to follow Dr. Joey's weight loss program, but you can still follow along at home!

So many of you were interested in being a part of Dr. Joey Shulman’s three-month weight loss program, but unfortunately we could only choose three winners. (However you can follow along at home by downloading the food journal and seven-day meal plan links below.)

Here are our three winning women, we’re looking forward to cheering them on as they begin their weight loss journey with Dr. Joey and CityLine:

Tracy R.

Start weight: 186.5 lbs
Height: 5 3
Start measurements chest 39 waist 42 hip 47.5
Goal weight: 140 lbs

Tracy’s story (Tracy is blogging about her progress on CityLine.ca here):

Finally – exactly what I have been waiting for. MOTIVATION.

I watch CityLine every day and every day I seem to start a new "diet". As a new mom, I am so motivated by Tracy Moore’s weight loss success but my daily diet plans often end with after-dinner cookies and big glass of guilt.

Many moms complain about baby weight but unfortunately I already had too much extra weight before I even got pregnant. Marrying into a Greek family, it is almost impossible to avoid the over-indulgences that come with every family gathering – which there are a lot of. It is truly amazing how a little extra weight can greatly affect your outlook on life. I just don’t feel like myself anymore. I have gone from positive and poised to frumpy and grumpy.

As the primary meal planner I feel it is my responsibility to provide healthy meal choices for my family but I just don’t know where or how to start. My husband and I have each gained over 35 lbs since our 2005 wedding. I know we both literally feed off each other and allow ourselves to get sidetracked. Soon my daughter will be starting solids and I ask myself, how can I expect her to eat fruits and vegetables if I don’t expect the same from myself? I mean, how do you even cook sweet potatoes?

It is time for the excuses to stop. Time to get motivated and time to be positive about my body, my lifestyle and my family’s future.

I am looking forward to embarking on this adventure.

Tracy

Valerie J.

Start weight: 163 lbs
Height: 5′ 51/2"
Start measurements: Chest 38/Waist 36/Hip 43
Goal weight: 135-140

Valerie’s story (Valerie was entered by her daughter, Erica):

Hello CityLine,

I was watching the show today and saw the segment on Dr. Joey’s program. I am writing to you in secret on behalf of my mom. My mom is a wonderful, fantastic person (and mom) and she has been trying to lose weight in time for my wedding in August. This is her motivation right now, but I know she would also like to be educated on healthy food choices. She has a 9-5 job 5 days a week, and hits the gym right after work. Comes home late, and doesn’t know what to eat. Her goal is to be a size 8 by the wedding, but she is having difficulty achieving this. She has been going to the gym 4 times per week for about an hour each time, but is not seeing any results. Although she is working out, I don’t feel she has gotten on the "healthy eating" band wagon just yet! I think eating healthy is the key ingredient that she needs to slim down and get fit. My mom really needs some healthy eating tips! Please help! My mom deserves to look and feel fantastic this year. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help.
Erica

Melanie F.

Start weight: 153.5 lbs
Height: 5′ 41/2"
Start measurements: Chest 40/Waist 39/Hip 40
Goal weight: 125 lbs

Melanie’s story:

Hello CityLine!

I watched your program this morning, as I do everyday, and would like to participate in Dr. Joey’s weight loss program.

As a 46 year old mother of 2, I find myself with about 30 pounds of extra love around my middle. My 8 year old likes the excess flab because she said if feels like "a squishy marshmallow". Marshmallow is not an adjective that sits well with me.

I am not a big eater, but I do LOVE CHOCOLATE! I also believe my hormones may be a bit out of whack, as my periods are few and far between.

After watching a Doctor Oz show, I am now aware that belly fat is the worst kind of fat which can lead to a host of medical problems, which I do not want to see come to fruition.

I am a competitive person by nature, so I know once committed I would achieve the desired weight loss, therefore, know I would be a great fit for this program.

As I look forward to making positive changes in the coming year, I thank you for your consideration!

Melanie
