There are so many fabulous bloggers out there, and we want to highlight them in a new feature we’re calling CityLine’s Blogger Of The Month. Each month we’ll profile a different lifestyle blogger — they might write about food, fashion, beauty, decor, parenting, entertaining, gardening, you get the idea! Our first featured blogger is the fabulous Sarah Gunn, author of the Wall Candy decor blog on YummyMummyClub.ca. Congratulations Sarah!
Sarah Gunn has been inspired by decor and design all her life, so writing a blog on the subject just made sense.
Sarah is the author of Wall Candy, on YummyMummyClub.ca, and she reveals to CityLine that blogging has allowed her to get in touch with like-minded people all over the world.
“I got started blogging not because I’m a designer or decorator but because I’ve had a passion for design my entire life,” the mom-of-two says.
“In fact, I started collecting pictures for inspiration since I was 13 years old in an old-school photo album. Now we have blogs, we have the Internet and I connect with people all over the world with my ideas and inspiration and with other people that have the same passion that I do.”
From posts on the anticipation of spring, to a gorgeous Valentine’s vignette, to Sarah’s own kitchen renovation and the challenges therein, Wall Candy is brimming with decor ideas and fabulous finds. The best part? Many of the ideas she talks about can be done on a budget.
“I was an elementary teacher before I chose to stay home with my boys, but design’s been a passion of mine my entire life, so I’ve implemented a lot of my ideas in my own home. I like softer colours, mixing different textures, and a little bit of old mixed with new,” she explains.
“I also am an artist so I’ve painted a lot of the art in my boys’ rooms.”
A dream of Sarah’s came true recently when Yummy Mummy Club founder Erica Ehm asked her to decorate her daughter’s bedroom (pictured above).
