Belly, bust and bum: The best shapewear to cover up

Ingrie Williams stopped by to show us the best shapewear on the market today.

When it comes to covering up the three Bs—belly, bust, and butt—stylist Ingrie Williams says it’s something that many women still fret about.  She stopped by to show us the best shapewear available on the market today.

Belly:

When it comes to the belly, Ingrie says the undergarment is the first place to focus.  Shapewear that comes up high on the waistline and under the bustline will ensure your curves are smooth and flowing.  Try before you buy, and fits from briefs to shorts to slips will give you the option to pick something that best suits you.

Draping is always figure-flattering, Ingrie says.  It will give the illusion of an hourglass shape, and it is perfectly paired with high heels, giving you a curvaceous silhouette.

Bust:

A bra that fits right is key, Ingrie recommends.  Getting it fitted every year will make sure you are adjusting to your body’s changes, with weight loss, aging, and pregnancy shifting your bustline measurements.

If you have a fuller bust line, make sure you are buying a bra with a fuller cup size.  Underwire and a three-panel structure will keep everything streamlined.

If you are looking to create the illusion of a fuller bustline, silicone inserts are a great way to go.  They allow you to insert them in the areas you’d like to see improvement in, and they are a relatively inexpensive fashion investment.

Bum:

Microfibre is the magic word, Ingrie says.  Microfibre and lasered underwear will ensure everything stays seamless, and there is flexibility with the type of underwear you choose—from a fuller brief to a thong.

Ingrie recommends not putting your undergarments in the dryer as the heat makes them lose elasticity. And always pair your undie bottoms with jeans designed for a fuller figure.
