Spaghetti has always been a crowd favourite and a staple at the dinner table. If you like pasta, you’re going to want to hold on to your hats for this one. Claire Tansey has brought us a one-pan recipe–because nobody likes to do the dishes. Find out how to prepare pasta and the sauce, all in one pan.
One-pan pasta with tomatoes and basil
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 450 g linguine
- 796-mL can diced tomatoes
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup basil leaves, divided
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp hot-red-chili flakes
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup grated parmesan
Method:
Combine water with linguine, diced tomatoes, onion, 1/2 cup basil, garlic, butter, tomato paste, chili flakes and salt in a very large frying pan. Boil over medium-high, stirring often, until pasta has absorbed most of the liquid, 9 to 10 min.
Transfer pasta to a platter. Sprinkle with parmesan and remaining basil. Serve immediately.
