Matcha is very high quality green tea filled with health boosting antioxidants and nutrients. In fact, matcha contains more than 137 times the antioxidants than regularly brewed green tea! Anti-oxidants are naturally occurring chemical compounds that can help to prevent aging and chronic disease. In a testing method known as ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity), matcha was shown to possess 20x more anti-oxidant capacity vs. blueberries or pomegranates.
Matcha powder can be purchased at most tea shops and health food stores. Although a little more expensive than green tea, you only need to use a small amount each time (approximately ½ teaspoon).
