Instructions

1. Drill a hole at the crown of the owl heads the same diameter as the RODD light tube.
2. Drill a hole one inch from the bottom at the back in the ‘tail feathers.’
3. Cut the plug off the light cord.
4. Dry fit the RODD light stem through the hole you drilled at the top of the hole.
5. Reach in through the hole (already in the very bottom of the owl decoy) and feed the wiring out the hole you created at the bottom of the tail feathers.
6. Thread on the metal lamp base.
7. The owl decoy I used had a line (seam) around the nose that looked very noticeable, so I filled it with paintable acrylic caulk.
8. Now you can paint or spray paint your owl and light pipe any colour you like. Cover any parts (like the switch) with painters tape to keep it the original colour.
9. Attach the replacement plug (strip the wires with wire cutters, wrap them around the two screws inside the replacement plug, tighten them, close up the plug).
10. Add on your lampshade!
