The 4 Haircut Styles Making Waves This Season

You'll want to rock these styles this season.

New Season, New You

I’m so excited for this upcoming fall season of haircut trends! And I know for a lot of you, it’s been a while since we’ve experimented with different haircuts, but now is a great time to push the agenda a little bit and try out one of these super trendy haircuts.

Wolf Cut

The first haircut is inspired by a number of different celebrities right now, including Billie Eilish and Debby Ryan. Born in Korea and popularized by TikTok, the Wolf Cut is a mix between a shag and a mullet. The beauty of this style is that it is choppy and textured, but it can be short or long, and can even incorporate bangs depending on your taste.

A big difference between the Wolf Cut and other haircuts is that it has layers, but also a strong foundation on the bottom. This keeps the cut looking heavy and strong at the bottom. It allows people that have fine-textured hair to wear a super-layered haircut and not feel like it’s too fine or thin at the bottom.

Wavy/Curly Shag

The second haircut is a great option for our medium-to-thick, wavy-to-super curly clientele. Like the Wolf Cut, it has a bunch of layers and cool texture thrown, but because we would use this for thicker hair you would be ok to thin the bottom out a bit more which gives curlier hair a lighter feel. Notable celebs who rock this do include Sandrah Oh.

The styling of the Wavy/Curly Shag is the best part. Allow those curls and texture to take on a life of their own and live where they want to live.

Buzz Cut

Who knew the Buzz Cut would be making its way to the trending list? The Buzz Cut is a super bold look, that works for all hair types. To me, it says confidence; it’s powerful and super fashion-forward.

So many have taken up this style including Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett, and Jordan Alexander.

In the past, a buzz cut was considered a cry for help– think Britney Spears in 2007. Fast-forward to 2021, it signals hope and a new way to think about femininity. It’s a total style overhaul, so use the opportunity to experiment with your hair colour, try new makeup, and experiment with bold clothes.

French Bob

This style is a beautiful, classic and timeless haircut, making it one of my all-time favourites. Bobs are always trendy, and this specific one is a jaw-grazing bob, which works with or without bangs. Our celebrity inspo for this look are Taylor LaShae and Jenn Im.

In terms of styling this cut, think classic styling: blow-dryer and round brush. It doesn’t need to be overworked; the cut is done in a way to make your life easy when styling. It’s also low maintenance, it looks great slicked back and wet, and if you let it air-dry, you get a perfectly messy look.
