Beauty companies are unveiling their best collections and fragrances of the year. Here is our list of the most incredible beauty trends, starting with the first: high-tech packaging.
Paco Rabanne returns with his much-anticipated fragrance of the year: Phantom. The robot-shaped bottle contains an addictive aromatic scent, with notes of zesty lemon peel, lavender, patchouli, apple and vetiver. The bottle includes a contactless communication NFC chip embedded in the spray cap. Simply touch the Phantom’s head with your smartphone, revealing interactive filters, personalized playlists, augmented reality, interactive games and much more.
Colours
Switching gears and heading over to the trendiest colours of the season, metallics are also huge for autumn and no one does them better than celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath. She says metallics never go out of style because they look good on every skin tone.
For a subtle metallic accent, OPI has a new collection of nail lacquers. The iconic California-based nail lacquer brand is celebrating its 40th anniversary by going back to its roots. The fall colour collection spotlights Downtown L.A. with a mix of rich autumn shades and wearable neutrals.
This award-winning palette boasts 10 richly pigmented shadows in gleaming rose gold, molten metallic bronze and deep crimson. The formula features sensorial pigments, crystalline pearls and cream-infused powders for a next-generation eyeshadow.
Fragrances
In keeping with the metallic theme, we have a pair of gold-themed fragrances from Dolce & Gabanna.
The One Gold is an Eau de Parfum, an intense fruity-floral scent with notes of juicy gold plum, rose super essence, patchouli and white musk.
The One For Men Gold is an Eau de Parfum, intense with notes of juicy citrus, spicy ginger and rich patchouli.
Mugler has announced a new face for their Alien Goddess fragrance: Willow Smith! The new face of the Mugler Alien Goddess features a golden-hued floral-amber scent for her with notes of bergamot, vanilla and white flowers.
And now, a Cityline exclusive: 19-69 Fragrances. This is the hottest niche fragrance brand from Sweden by designer/artist-photographer Johan Bergelin, who is obsessed with the music, culture and art of 1969. These are complex, layered fragrances for him and her.
Skin Care
In the world of skincare, eye serums are a must. Two of my favourites offer great technology and ingredients – but with different approaches.
The first on my list is Clarins Double Serum. It uses a formula for the eye, working 96% natural ingredients and 13 plant extracts. It targets wrinkles, reduces puffiness and dark circles, strengthens the skin around the eye contour, illuminates the eye area and protects against the effects of blue light.
Next up is Estee Lauder. The serum uses skin repair cycles at night to help skin repair itself. This targeted eye serum helps reduce the look of lines, helps skin feel firmer and nourished. It now features a
metal applicator wand which can be used on the nasal folds and forehead lines.
Of course, it wouldn’t be skincare without lip care. Fall is traditionally when we shop for new wardrobes and I’ve brought the chicest accessory: French beauty brand Guerlain. It takes inspiration from Paris Fashion Week with a collection of collector lipstick cases in stunning Parisian fabrics like French chevron,
houndstooth, tweeds and velvets.
Exciting news for lip balm fans. You used to have to pay high prices to get a custom shade lip balm product, but Revlon has created a very affordable version.
