Trend #1 – Pops of Pastel Colour
Abstract placement of pastel colour on the eyes is all the rage this season. Whether it’s a pop of mint green on the outer corners of the eyes or a graphic line of yellow above the crease of your eyes, it’s all about doing the unexpected with that spring-like tone. Festival season is inspiring makeup lovers right now and we’re welcoming spring with these unique pops of colour. Pro Tip: Rock this look with dewy skin for an ultra-modern and effortless look.
Trend #2 – Embellished Eyes
The Euphoria TV Series has taken the world by storm and social media beauty enthusiasts are in a tizzy over the endless makeup inspiration the show has provided. Metallics in combination with embellishments around the eyes are stealing the spotlight at the moment. Applying pearls or crystals under the eyes, as a liner effect detail or in the inner corner/outer corner of the eyes is majorly trending. The rules?? According to the runways, there are none! The more creative, the better! Find embellished eye stickers in pearls or crystals on Amazon for as little as $10.00. Add a little waterproof eyelash glue under each sticker for extra longevity!
Trend #3 – Centre Stage Blush
Blush techniques have been changing by the minute when it comes to trends, however, for Spring, it’s all about a bright wash of sheer colour placed on the cheeks, temples and draped onto the eyes as well. If you’ve been a little tentative in the blush department, now is your time to let loose and have some fun. Blush for Spring is meant to be center stage. Opt for a cream blush if you have dry skin and a powdered blush if you like a little more longevity.
Trend #4 – Beautiful, Blurred Lips
Soft, blurred lips with the focal point of the colour being in the inside of the lips is a huge 2022 Spring trend. This technique feels like a blooming spring flower aesthetically and wears beautifully as well. To create this look, use a pencil liner in a punchy colour and apply it to the top and bottom of your lips, primarily the inside of your lips (opposite of where you would normally line your lips). Next, use your finger or a small brush and gently blend and diffuse the colour towards the outside of your lips, lifting off before you reach the edges of your lips. For extra impact, apply foundation on your lips, topped with a setting powder before you get started. This will help the diffused look stand out more.
Trend #5 – Y2K Gloss & Shine
An early 2000 trend is making a serious comeback, and all of the dry lip-sufferers are going to love this one! Now is the time to enlist in a lip gloss that not only gives impactful shine but also has further lip care benefits to it as well!
