Turkey grilled cheese with green apple and aged cheddar

Paired with green apple and aged cheddar, this grilled cheese will make all of your co-workers hungry with envy.

This recipe is perfect for post-Thanksgiving lunches with leftover turkey.  Paired with green apple and aged cheddar, this grilled cheese will make all of your co-workers hungry with envy.

Turkey grilled cheese with green apple and aged cheddar

Ingredients:

•    6 slices of roasted turkey breast

•    1 whole green apple (cored and thinly sliced)

•    4 slices of aged cheddar

•    ¼ cup of salted butter

•    1 tsp of ground cinnamon

•    8 sage leaves

•    4 slices of Texas sliced Bread (thick)

Method:

Soften the butter and mix with the ground cinnamon.

Spread the butter on one side of all four slices of bread.

Layer the turkey, sliced green apple, cheddar, sage on two of the butter sides of bread.

Cover with the other two slices to make two sandwiches.

Now butter the outside of the sandwiches and in a non stick pan over low heat.

Toast the two sandwiches.

Once golden turn over until golden on the second side.

Remove from the pan and serve immediately.
