3 holiday DIYs: Placemats, ornaments and wrapping paper
Get ready for the holidays with these easy and colorful DIY projects from Sarah Gunn.
1. Placemats
Materials:

1/8 hard board, cut to size
Primer
Paint
Painter’s tape
Stencils

Varnish
How To:
Prime both sides of the place mat.
Use painter’s tape or stencils to create desired pattern.
Roll paint over the stencil or tape, repeat as needed.

Once dry, treat the surface with a varnish.
2. Ornaments
Materials:
Clear ornaments (available at Michaels)
Paint

Ribbon and stickers
Egg tray
How To:
Remove the top from each ornament.
Pour paint into the ornament until it is completely coated in paint.

Set them upside down on the egg tray to dry overnight.
Replace the cover.
Add details like ribbon or stickers.
3. Wrapping paper
Materials:

White craft paper
Stencil
Paint
Foam roller
How To:
Advertisement
Place stencil on paper and apply paint using a foam roller.
Let dry.
To use the paper to create a table centrepiece, wrap three boxes and stack them. Add ribbon and an ornament.
