When you think of Easter, do you think chocolate? We do and we’re almost positive that your kids do too. We have put together a couple of unique Easter ideas for you and the little ones to enjoy (and that will hopefully keep their minds off chocolate, at least for a little while anyway)!

Bunny, Bunny, Hop!

If you have ever played Duck, Duck, Goose! you will catch on quickly.

• Have your children sit in a circle.
• One person is to go around the circle tapping each person on the head saying, ‘bunny,’ ‘bunny,’ ‘bunny’ — once they’ve selected who they would like to chase them around the circle, they will tap the person’s head and yell ‘Hop!’
• The person who was tapped must immediately jump up and hop around the circle trying to catch the person who tapped them on the head.
• If the person who has to hop around the circle catches the person who tapped them on the head, they are free and that same person must go around the circle again and try not to get caught.
• If the person who does the tapping gets back to the spot where they tapped their friend to chase them, they are safe and their friend must now go around the circle doing the same: Bunny, Bunny, Bunny, Hop!

Egg Bowling

This is similar to lawn bowling.

• Hard boil about 9 eggs.
• Leave one egg white. Colour 4 yellow and 4 pink.
• Split into two teams of four.
• This game can be played inside or outside. If played inside, make sure that the eggs have dried completely before placing them on your carpet.
• Have one person toss the white egg somewhere on the lawn or in the room. One at time, members from each team will toss their coloured egg towards the white egg.
• Whichever team’s eggs end up closest to the white one wins.
• The winner of the game gets to toss the white egg in the next round!

Easter S’mores

These are not your average S’mores.

• Take two graham crackers and a piece of chocolate.
• Instead of using a regular marshmallow, substitute for an Easter marshmallow! Easter marshmallows are available in pastel colours and make for extra colourful S’mores! Let your kids indulge in one more treat this Easter.

Easter Egg Garland

Why not decorate your house a little bit on Easter to get into the spirit? To help you, we have thought of the easiest Easter egg garland yet.

• All you need is a paint colour fan deck.
• Choose out the Easter colours you would like– such as yellows, pinks, purples, light blues, etc..
• Cut the shape of an egg out of each shade.
• Next, hole punch a small hole in the top and thread a string through connecting the egg shapes.
• Voila! You have created your own Easter egg garland.
