DIY: Colourful abstract paintings

Materials:

Wooden or primed canvas of any size
Acrylic paint
Chalk pastels
Paint brushes of any width
Paint palette
Drop cloth
Cup with water
Painting smock

Method:

1. Lay down your drop cloth on a big surface and place your canvas on top. Then fill a big cup of water to dip your brushes in.

2. Squeeze out some acrylic paint on a palette in the colours that best match the space where you will be placing your masterpiece. Then start drawing some lines and patterns all over your canvas with coloured chalk lines as a guide.

3. Using more water than you think you’re going to need, start blending your colours all over the canvas, layering the shades that you chose with lots of white to create a colourful abstract painting for your home.
