Moody floral lampshade

Materials:

Silk lampshade
Chalk or fabric paint
Brush
Water
Scotch Guard

Method:

1. Lightly spray a silk lampshade with water and wipe up any drips.

2. Dip an artist’s brush into warm water to wet the bristles and then dip it into a small amount of chalk paint or fabric paint.

3. Dab the paint onto the wet lampshade to create whatever pattern you want, and allow the paint to run freely for a watercolour effect.

4. Allow the shade to dry and then spray lightly with Scotch Guard to protect the finish.

Tip: A similar technique can be used on pillowcases.  Make sure to put a piece of cardboard inside the case to stop the paint from bleeding through the fabric.
