Kari Kemp squated and pulled her way in and out of five of the top options. Here’s her review.

Honeylove SuperPower Short ($121)

Honeylove’s SuperPower Shorts have targeted compression which aims to tone and smooth. This is done through panels of varying compression which shape where you want shaping and release everywhere else. Rather than squeezing everything in like most shapewear, Honeylove shifts. The Softflex structure prevents rolling down at the waist while also supporting your posture. They come in four different colours and are available from XS to 3X.

Kari’s Review: I have a smaller waist, so I was eager to see how it carves my body. It has a lot of stretch but was a pain to get on. I typically like to tuck the top underneath my bra but it did not go up that high but I still felt like it was holding me very well. It’s supposed to tone, smooth and compress the belly area and I definitely feel that. There is a line on the legs that would be visible if you were to wear dress pants or underneath a skirt, and nobody wants to see that. They were also a little uncomfortable between the thighs but not the worst!

Skims High Waisted Bonded Shorts ($130)

Created by Kim Kardashian West, Skims is a new solution focused approach to shape enhancing undergarments. They are designed to smooth, enhance, lift and tone. The High Waisted Bonded Shorts smooth your thighs, shape your butt and tightly contour your core. The buttery and bonded construction enhances and contours your body’s natural shape. They are available in one colour and from sizes XXS to 4X.

Kari’s Review: Skims is the most talked about shapewear right now. These had a cute little heart on the booty because we all know a Kardashian loves her booty so why can’t we? While wearing these my belly was not jiggling as much and the thighs were not rolling up either. Also it was really nice and sculpting. I had a waist! There’s a line that went under the belly to help hold it in and when I squatted it actually went underneath the stomach and when I came back up, it went right into place!

Spanx High Waisted Mid Thigh Short ($94)

Spanx mission is to help women feel great about themselves and their potential! Their High Waisted Mid thigh short are lightweight and powerful and features fully-bonded front-panels promising a tabletop flat stomach. The edge-bonded side panels create a comfortable, squeeze-free slimming and easy movement. They also feature booty enhancing pockets to give you an extra lift. They come in 3 colours and from sizes XS to 3X.

Kari’s Review: Spanx are supposed to shape, sculpt and transform your body and I was ready for that transformation! These ones came really high up, and I was worried about them rolling up in the thigh. However we need to talk about the panelling because it was sucking everything in! I felt secure, I felt sucked in, I felt transformed into this new sexy woman!

Shapermint High Waisted Shaper Short ($60)

The no-slip silicone strip in this shapewear promises a stay-put fit that you can count on. It tames your tummy and slims your thighs while staying invisible under your clothing.  They come in two colours from sizes XS to 4XL.

Kari’s Review: Word on the street is that these are the number 1 selling shapewear! It’s supposed to tummy control and slim instantly. Putting these on after the bathroom in the middle of the night, would not be a lot of fun. They had this sort of grip at the top that I was intrigued about but there was some rolling at the waist and thighs. But given time, I think this shapewear would actually be pretty decent.

Amazon Nebility Women Waist Trainer Shapewear ($26.99)

These shapewear promise to be breathable & comfortable while slimming and shaping all day. It features a seamless waist cincher and butt lifter panties as well as tummy control. It comes in two colours from sizes XS to 4X. It is also available for prime!

Kari’s Review: These ones had a sexy butt lifter and I felt my butt lifting! It had the nice, thick panels, it was nice and high so I could put it over top of my back rolls. It did not suck in the belly at all though. I could feel my tummy shaking still! There was also a bit of friction going on between my thighs which could lead to chaffing by the end of the night which nobody wants.

Kari’s Final Thoughts: Make sure you’re getting the right size because size is everything! You should always be looking at the size chart and reviews because sizes vary across different brands. I really did like the Skims. They were a little bit tight on my thighs – I do have bigger thighs. But I didn’t have to worry about it rolling up, it felt like it contoured which is nice because I like a good contour around my waist. So Skims would be my number 1 choice!
