Asian Sloppy Joe’s

Serve these very sloppy, sloppy joe toasted sliders filled with a super flavorful sloppy joe mixture and coleslaw, perfect for your next dinner party.

Ingredients

1 lb
lean ground beef
2 tsp
vegetable oil
1 tsp
sesame oil
1 tsp
tomato paste
1
medium yellow onion, finely diced
1 tsp
chopped ginger
1 tsp
chopped garlic
1 cup
green cabbage, shredded

Slider buns, toasted

Sauce

1 cup
tomato sauce
1 tbsp
soy sauce
1 tsp
fresh lime juice
1 tsp
Hoisin sauce
1 tso
Sriracha

Instructions

  1. In a large deep frying pan on medium heat, add vegetable and sesame oil. Then add onion, a generous pinch of salt, a pinch of black pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes until light golden brown.
  2. Add garlic, ginger, tomato paste and sauté for one minute before adding the pork.
  3. Stir the meat and break it up to allow even colouring.
  4. After 5 minutes add tomato sauce, soy sauce, hoisin and sriracha and simmer on low heat for approximately 20 minutes.
  5. Finish with lime juice and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
