Perfectly nutty granola

Makes  6 cups
Crunchy oat, walnut and pecan granola, perfect for breakfast or holiday gifting.

Ingredients

3 cups
large-flake oats
1 cup
pecan halves
1 cup
walnut halves
1/4 cup
flax seeds
3/4 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 cup
canola oil
1/2 cup
honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet or jellyroll pan with parchment.
  2. Stir the oats with the nuts, seeds, cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk the oil with the honey, then pour it over the oat mix.
  4. Stir until every last flake is coated.
  5. Scrape mixture onto prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer.
  6. Bake 30 to 40 min, stirring thoroughly every 10 to 15 min.
  7. The granola should be golden and toasty, but not too dark brown.
  8. Keep a close eye on it during the last 10 min as it can get over-toasted quickly.
  9. Let it cool completely before packaging.
