Dr. Joey’s favourite turkey chili

Ingredients

1 ½ tbsp.
olive oil
1 lbs.
ground turkey
1 can
diced tomatoes
1 can
tomato sauce, (no sugar)
1/2 medium
onion
2
diced celery sticks
2
peeled and diced carrots
1 cup
sliced mushrooms
1 cup
broccoli, florets
3 cloves
garlic
1/2 tsp
dried basil
1/2 tsp
parsley
1/2 tsp
oregano
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1 tbsp
chili powder
1
bay leaf
1 can
kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Place turkey in the post and cook until evenly brown. Stir in the onions and cook until tender.
  2. Stir in tomatoes, sauce, onion, celery, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli and spices.
  3. Simmer uncovered for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add kidney beans and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove bay leaf and enjoy!
