Materials:

-canvas drop cloth with “laminated” back

-scissors

-high density foam roller

-low tack spray adhesive

-various craft size stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils

-Benjamin Moore’s Fresh Start primer

-quarts of Benjamin Moore’s exterior paint, low lustre finish in the following colours: “Tropical Orange” 2170-20, “Cool Aqua” 2056-40, “Pacific Ocean Blue” 2055-20, “White Sand” OC-10, “Onyx” 2133-10 -pillow stuffing

-sewing machine (or contact a local workroom)

How To:

-Lay out the drop cloth and prime the entire canvas side.

-Once primer is dry, cut the pillows to your desired sizes, ensuring you cut 2 identical pieces for the back and front of each cushion and leave 2″ extra around the perimeter for sewing.

-Apply one base coat colour to each set of cut outs and allow to dry thoroughly.

-Spray a light coat of low tack adhesive to the backs of the craft stencils.

-Apply the first stencil to your first set of canvas pillow templates.

-Lightly apply an alternate colour using a high density foam roller.

-Remove stencil immediately after paint is applied.

-Once dry, sew 3 sides of the matching pieces together, ensuring that the waterproof laminated side is on the inside of the cushion.

-In the remaining open side, stuff the pillow with filling and sew up the remaining edge.

-Display outside and enjoy!
