Dave’s Faves for November

Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy lipsticks

When Giorgio Armani launched his cosmetics line in 2000, I thought it was a pretty prestige collection. It had a few hiccups. But in the last 18 months, it has taken off. This is one of the innovative brands in terms of prestige makeup now. This is Mr. Armani’s (and everyone who works with him calls him that) new lipstick line called Rouge Ecstasy. 36 lipsticks. It contains the highest percentage of moisturizing pastes ever reached in a lipstick, while the solid waxes were reduced to preserve the comfort of lightness. So this really does bring skincare benefits to makeup.

productShiseido Ibuki collection

I’ve talked on Cityline about how much of the skincare innovation today is coming from Asia. The amount of money and resources going into research is astounding. The latest technology from Japan arrives in Canada this month. It’s from Shiseido and it is called Ibuki – meaning inner strength. This is a problem-solving skincare line for 20-somethings. If you aren’t eating properly, not getting enough sleep, stressed at work – this collection works to help strengthen and soothe skin. But what is best is the texture. You really have to feel these products to see how luxurious they feel. And we do know that if you start early with a good skincare regime, it pays off over time.

Airflash CC primer, Airflash matte finishing powder and Airflash foundation

CC creams were big news last year: Colour Correcting creams that worked like a primer but corrected redness, yellow or ashy tones to the skin. Dior was the first to launch an aerosol foundation and now is launching an aerosol CC cream. A simple ‘S’ motion and you’re set. One of the most innovative products of the year.

Very Irresistible Givenchy 10th anniversary bottle

It’s the 10th anniversary of Very Irresistible Givenchy – the first aromatic floral in women’s perfumery, a rose-based scent. To celebrate, limited edition 10 years – 10 roses. Includes the notes of 10 luminous roses including Damask, Centifolia, Fantasia roses. If you love this, be quick. These bottles are selling out quickly.

7 Virtues custom blend box

For the perfume lover, a custom blend box that allows you to create your own signature scents by layering fragrances. You get four scents that all can be mixed and matched. 7 Virtues is a Canadian fragrance brand that supports farmers in war-torn countries. Bill Clinton is a big fan of this brand. Really is about supporting farmers and families around the world.
