Sandi Richard's easy chicken burgers

Chef Sandi Richard's flavourful chicken burgers are an easy and delicious meal that can be topped with a number of different ingredients.

Let the competition begin! Have your family members choose toppings and then vote for the best. Try hoisin sauce and shredded cabbage for Asian flavour; bacon, smoky BBQ sauce and cheddar for Western; horseradish mayo and crispy onions for a down-home version; or garam masala, mango chutney and cilantro for Indian.

Sandi Richard’s easy chicken burgers


2 lbs extra lean ground chicken
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups fine Italian bread crumbs
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup salt to catch fat drippings in baking tray


1. Preheat oven to 475 F.

2. Line a baking sheet with foil. Spread 1/3 cup salt over foil and then place a cooling rack over top. (The salt sops up the oil that drizzles from the burgers. You don’t end up with heavy smoke from the high temperature.)

3. Combine everything in a big bowl. Make sure it’s mixed together really well!

4. Loosely form 6 burgers and place on cooling rack. Place pan in center of preheated oven and set timer for 20 minutes.
